The first pair of Rossignol Skis was hand crafted by Abel Rossignol in his workshop in Voiron, Isere. Over the next 50 years, Rossignol continued manufacturing wooden skis and becoming a staple in the European market. In 1956 Laurent Boix-Vives purchased Rossignol skis and turned it into the international company we know it as today. It was under Boix-Vives guidance that Rossignol became the first ski manufacturer to sell a million pairs of skis, the Strato.
In the late 1980’s, Rossignol had begun to expand its offerings. In 1987 they entered the snowboard world and then in 1989 they purchased ski boot manufacturer LANGE. Expansion of the Rossignol Group continued into the 1990’s when they purchased Look Bindings. With that the Rossignol Group became a one stop shop for all things snow related.
Today, Rossignol offer’s a huge range of product. They continue to be an industry leader in both skiing and snowboarding. With lines like the Sender Series or models like the XV (Xavier De Le Rue pro model) Rossignol has skis and snowboards suited for every condition.
